As dance instructors for over 20 years in Central Alberta, we have taught many students of varying levels, and attended many festivals of varying arrangements. Through our experiences attending festivals as dancers, instructors, organizers and adjudicators, we have collaborated our beliefs & values to create what we feel is the most beneficial composition for a dance festival for dance students in central Alberta; the same type of students that we know and teach ourselves. Our focus is to provide this experience for both recreational & competitive studios - ranging from small city, town and rural communities to larger city centers - allowing for the most balanced performance atmosphere for our dancers!
We strive to create and foster a passion and love of dancing for all our participants... everyone deserves to Sparkle!
We are proud to offer two types of events;
catering to both recreational & competitive studios alike!
Sparkle Dance Festiva​ls
- festival formatting where all entries are marked according to their category placement and awarded a medal standing
- open to small city, town, rural or recreational studios
- adjudicators with instructional knowledge who will not only critique, but construct and confirm our dancers abilities!
- Sparkle & Choreography Awards presented at every adjudication session
- categories arranged by both age & level
- small category sizes (5-10 entries per category) each with a dedicated & personalized adjudication session
- special 'Twinkle Tots' classification for dancers 5yrs & under
- an Advanced classification for more elite dancers who train 8+ hours/week
- Top Awards presented at the end of each event; awards are both mark-based and non-mark-based
- an atmosphere that promotes the celebration of dance from all participants
- programming that reflects respectable theater hours & allows us to run on-time
- a fleet of light-hearted and jovial Sparkle Staff to ensure your experience with us is as uplifting and refreshing as possible!
- a fully stocked Teacher's Lounge to keep you Sparkling too!
Sparkle Bright:
Dance Festival & Competition
- offers the same great atmosphere and experience as our Sparkle Festivals, but with the added edge of a Competition!
- entries are marked according to their category placement and ​awarded a medal standing
- additionally there are 1st, 2nd & 3rd place standings awarded within each category
- open to all studios
- a "Sparkle Showcase" Dance Final will be held at the culmination of the weekend; top groups in all levels will re-dance in a showcase of the weekend's best! All Showcase participants will be awarded scholarship placements!
